With all the chaos and stress of our current economy and politics, it is heartening and exciting to know that we have Gwen Burke, a candidate for the Putnam County Legislature, who is supremely equipped to deal with our problems.
I believe that as an environmental engineer, Gwen will work to ensure that our water is safe and used efficiently. And as someone who holds an MBA in Finance, Gwen will bring fiscal responsibility and transparency to our government and assess conscientious ways to deal with the millions of dollars of unassigned funds currently sitting in our Putnam County government.
For example, as a long term mental health provider, I am aware of a dire shortage of supervised housing for the mentally ill population. Waiting lists are years long. With Gwen's formidable financial experience, I trust her to thoughtfully consider utilizing some of the monies from our huge reserve to fund this and other needed services.
Gwen Burke is the invigorating, intelligent and positive leader who is qualified to institute the needed changes to bring Putnam County to its peak level of functionality.
There is a brighter future that is possible for Putnam's residents if we vote for Gwen Burke for Legislature!
