The Mahopac Firemen's Parade drew a large crowd along Route 6 on July 23, where the community gathered to see the marchers and hop over to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department parking lot for the annual Firemen's Carnival.

MVFD is also selling tickets for its annual carnival raffle. Prizes include a grand prize choice of a jet ski with trailer or a UTV side-by-side with a plow, a second-place prize of $500 cash, and a third-place prize of $250 cash. Tickets cost $10 each, or 12 for $100, and can be purchased at fire headquarters, 741 Route 6, or from department members. The drawing will take place Aug. 1, the carnival's last day.
