KATONAH, N.Y. - The Women’s Civic Club of Katonah continued its long-standing tradition of holiday generosity at its annual luncheon on Dec. 10, collecting toys for the children of mothers incarcerated at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility.
Each year, club members donate gifts so the children can receive presents from their mothers, who are able to see them only occasionally. The effort reflects the club’s commitment to supporting families facing difficult circumstances during the holiday season.
During the luncheon, members also celebrated the club’s broader charitable impact. Thanks to the success of its Thrift Shop in 2025, the organization has already donated more than $62,000 to local charities this year.
Scholarship Committee Chair Connie Jakola announced that applications are now being accepted from graduating seniors for the club’s 2026 scholarships. She noted that awards are expected to be especially generous, bolstered by continued donations made in memory of former members.
