WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – A three-town coalition has been awarded as much as $625,000 in federal grant money to battle drug abuse over the next five years.
THRIVE, a partnership comprising Bedford, Lewisboro and Pound Ridge, is scheduled to receive $125,000 this year and can renew that amount for four additional years. After five years, the alliance will be eligible to reapply for another five-year cycle.
Bedford Supervisor Ellen Calves, who announced the grant award at the Town Board’s Oct. 1 meeting, said in a prepared statement that it had put the coalition “in a position to hire a full-time director.”
Lewisboro Supervisor Tony Goncalves, in the statement, said the coalition “seeks to raise awareness regarding substance abuse and mental health issues . . . and with this grant I am looking forward to future programming.”
