‘Traces of the Infinite’ Exhibition

The Gallery at Yellow Studio presents "Traces of the Infinite," a small group exhibition featuring the work of Helena Palazzi, Soli Pierce, and Lara Saget, on view Sept. 12 through Oct. 18. The exhibition brings together three practices that share an interest in a rawness of material and form, and a refusal to treat separation as final. Join in for an artists’ talk at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, followed by an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m.

Pierce and Saget both build their work from the materials of the natural world, stone, wood, glass, and metal, treating found and raw matter as a starting point rather than a finished thing. Palazzi's paintings meet that work with a muted palette and layered surface that hold the same quiet register. Together, the artists share an interest in what lies beneath the visible surface of a work, and in the moments when the boundaries we take for granted begin to give way.
