Dear Editor,
We write today to the residents of the 94th Assembly District asking you to reelect Assemblyman Matt Slater.
We urge the residents of our district to support Assemblyman Slater in the upcoming election to continue the great work he has done since being elected two years ago. Assemblyman Slater has been a true partner for us in a multitude of ways. He has been an incredible advocate for the Hudson Valley and our individual communities. Assemblyman Slater has been incredibly responsive, working with us to address our infrastructure needs, environmental concerns and public safety priorities. He has also been an incredible resource because he served as a Town Supervisor himself where he ushered Yorktown into a new chapter of fiscal and economic success. This experience alone makes him uniquely qualified to tackle the problems we see in Albany. In his first term, Assemblyman Slater helped stop devastating funding cuts to our libraries, veterans’ programs and public schools. Without his strong leadership, our local property taxpayers would have been asked to make up the difference, which would have put added stress on our local communities in the midst of an affordability crisis. Assemblyman Slater has also been a strong advocate for local control of housing and large-scale battery energy storage systems. In his first term, Assemblyman Slater fought back against Gov. Hochul’s proposed housing plan that would have taken away local zoning from our communities and mandated housing without providing the needed funds to upgrade our local infrastructure. Assemblyman Slater has been an incredible leader and great partner for our communities. He is well deserving of a second term and we urge our residents to support him.
