Dear Editor,
November’s election is critical!
However, recent portrayals of the local candidates have been misleading. The glowing depiction of the Democratic slate does not align with the facts, nor does the distorted characterization of their Town Council opponents, Andrea Rendo and Adam Giardina.
Councilwoman Andrea Rendo has consistently stood out as a thoughtful, disciplined and principled voice on the Town Board. She has often been the lone advocate for fiscal responsibility and for treating residents with respect, confronting a majority that has too often governed carelessly and spent excessively. Her strong command of municipal law has protected the Board from costly missteps, while her careful attention to budgetary matters has safeguarded taxpayer interests.
A clear example of her diligence came when she reminded her colleagues of state law permitting only the American and New York State flags on municipal buildings—a legal requirement the Supervisor and several board members appeared to overlook in favor of what “felt right.” Without Andrea’s steady leadership, the current Town Board would lack the balance and accountability that good governance requires.
Adam Giardina, meanwhile, brings invaluable real-world experience. Throughout his career in construction management, he has delivered projects on time and within budget—skills that will directly benefit our town. His ability to evaluate bids, negotiate contracts and secure funding will save Lewisboro taxpayers substantial sums while improving infrastructure. As both a private fundraiser and a partner to state legislators, Adam has already shown his dedication to community progress and fiscal responsibility.
Together, Rendo and Giardina represent the competence, balance and integrity that Lewisboro urgently needs. After years of one-party dominance, the Town Board has grown complacent and disconnected from the residents it serves. This lack of accountability has allowed troubling conduct and questionable priorities to go unchecked.
This November, voters have an opportunity to restore professionalism, transparency and respect to Lewisboro’s leadership.
