KATONAH, N.Y. - How many plump pumpkins can the pumpkin-picking public pick?
Say that three times fast.
Gorgeous gourds will be on sale at the Alfred B. DelBello Muscoot Farm from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, through Monday, Oct. 14.
The 777-acre county park is located on Route 100 in Katonah, and is owned and operated by the county’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation. Open for exploration daily, it offers a whole bunch of interpretive programs on weekends throughout the year.
“Being outdoors doing fall activities can foster bonding and create lasting memories,” said Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathy O’Connor. “Pumpkins’ earthy tones complement Muscoot’s vibrant foliage, making them a natural fit for October’s gorgeous landscape.”
There is no admission to the event, which is intended to raise money for Muscoot.
Each pumpkin’s price will be based on its size. Hayrides are $5 per person (Kids aged 2 and under are free.) Cider and doughnuts will also be for sale.
Attendees can visit the working farm/museum’s animals and enjoy free children’s activities.
Cash, Venmo and credit cards are accepted.
The pumpkin patch will close at 3:30 p.m. Hayrides run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The trails will be closed during the event.
Muscoot’s weekly Farmers Market will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, and every Sunday until Nov. 17.

Muscoot Farm preserves and interprets the agricultural, cultural and natural heritage of a Westchester County farm, circa 1880-1930.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer echoed O’Connor’s sentiments about the scenery.
“The crisp air, colorful fall leaves and the sight of countless pumpkins scattered across a field create a festive and inviting atmosphere. It’s an adventure to search for the perfect pumpkin, whether you’re looking for a small one for decorating or a large one for carving,” he said.
