Peter Netto of Brewster, NY, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday January 7, 2026, at home at the age of 81.
Peter was born May 19, 1944, in Treviso, Italy. In 1956 when he was twelve years old, he moved to the United States with his family and settled in Bronx, NY. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School in 1962 and on May 7, 1977, he married Laura Gentile at Immaculate Conception Church in Bronx, NY and they moved to Brewster, NY that same year. Peter worked at Laura’s family supermarket in the Bronx for many years and in 1994 he opened Super Deli with his brother Aldo in Somers, NY which they operated together until they retired in 2009.
Peter is survived by his wife Laura, his daughter Christine Gouveia and her husband Ryan of Brewster, NY, his grandson Luca Gouveia and brother Aldo Netto from Yorktown, NY.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday January 16, 2026, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church at 10 a.m. The interment will be private. Calling hours will take place on Thursday January 15, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
