LEWISBORO, N.Y. - State Senator Pete Harckham and Assemblymember Chris Burdick joined DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton at Lewisboro Town Hall last week to present official certificates to Environmental Conservation Officers Daniel Franz and Dylan Schuck for their exceptional investigative work earlier this year.
Franz and Schuck, working with the Westchester County Waste Commission, discovered a property owner bringing construction debris from Connecticut into Lewisboro and selling it as “clean topsoil” to farms in the area.
As a result of the investigation, 30,000 cubic yards of contaminated material were removed.
