Man arrested in Bedford after attempted FedEx truck robbery

BEDFORD, N.Y. - A Bronx man was arrested in Bedford earlier this week after allegedly trying to rob a FedEx truck in Connecticut. 

On Tuesday, April 22, an alert was issued for a 2007 Hyundai wanted in connection with the attempted robbery of a FedEx driver in Newtown. 

The car was later seen by a State Trooper traveling southbound on I-684.

A traffic stop was then initiated as the vehicle exited I-684 at Exit 6 in the area of Route 35 and Cherry Street in Bedford. David Del Rosario Encarnacion, 36, of Bronx, NY, was taken into custody without incident.

Through a joint effort with the Newtown Police Department, New York State Police investigators were able to confirm Del Rosario Encarnacion was at the scene of the crime in Newtown.

During processing, it was also discovered that he had an active full-extraditable arrest warrant in Pennsylvania for Forgery. Del Rosario Encarnacion was remanded to Westchester County Jail.
