SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. - A favorite community tradition returns this month as the Lewisboro Library Fair celebrates its 65th year with a full day of shopping, entertainment, food and activities.
The fair is set for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Onatru Farm Park, at 99 Elmwood Road in South Salem. The event will be held rain or shine and is one of the largest community gatherings in Lewisboro.
There will be plenty to explore throughout the day, including the fair’s popular giant Book Sale, Attic Treasures, Children’s Toy Sale and a Vendor Market featuring local artists and businesses. The Book Sale will offer adult, young adult and children’s titles, while Attic Treasures will feature vintage finds, collectibles, home goods, décor and other surprises.
For families, the fair will include a Kids’ Zone along with entertainment and activities designed for children. Visitors can also check out the Concours Car Show, take a turn at the famous Dunk Tank and enjoy food and drinks throughout the day, including food trucks and a beer and wine garden.
The fair also provides an opportunity to celebrate the organizations and people that help make the Lewisboro community special. Local community groups and nonprofits will be represented, while visitors can meet members of nearby fire departments and see firetrucks up close. Lewisboro Police will be on hand, including a child safety seat installation and inspection station, and local Scouts will demonstrate their skills with an obstacle course.
The festivities begin even before Fair Day with a series of sales at Onatru Farm Park.
The Adult Book Pre-Sale begins Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 5 to 9 p.m. and is open to Lewisboro residents. The sale continues Thursday, Sept. 17, from 5 to 9 p.m., with free admission for residents and a $25 admission fee for non-residents. Friday’s sale runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with free admission for everyone.
Attic Treasures also gets an early start. VIP ticket holders can shop all Attic Treasures Thursday evening, while non-VIP visitors will have access to sporting goods. On Friday, VIP ticket holders and fair volunteers can shop for free, while non-VIP visitors pay $25 for admission.
The sales continue after the fair, with discounted books and Attic Treasures available Sunday, Sept. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
More than just a fundraiser for the library, the annual fair has become a celebration of the community itself, bringing together residents, local organizations, businesses, volunteers and visitors for a day that offers something for virtually everyone.
