KATONAH, N.Y. - The Katonah Village Improvement Society (KVIS) will be celebrating an amazing milestone in style with the return of the Katonah Road Races!

Returning for its 25th year, the favorite local event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, featuring a trio of options for community members of all ages.

The festivities began on the Village Green at Parkway and Edgemont, across from the Katonah Village Library with the 5K at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-Mile Kids Fun Run at 8:45 a.m. and the Kids Dash at 9 a.m.

The Katonah 5K features varied terrain as both a trail and road race, and organizers remind runners that they will encounter rocks, roots, and loose gravel. Dogs and strollers are not permitted.

In addition, the KVIS will also be collecting donations of socks for the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

The Katonah Road Races are co-sponsored by the Town of Bedford and are KVIS’s largest fundraiser, involving hundreds of guests of all ages. The KVIS organizes and supports many inter-generational cultural and educational events to enrich the lives of Katonah residents and visitors, including the Katonah Halloween Parade, The Oscars Come to Katonah Film Series, and the spring community-wide cleanup day.
