Event to benefit Evarts Rink revitalization project

KATONAH, N.Y. - Hockey fans across the Westchester-Fairfield community will gather at The Harvey School’s Evarts Rink January 10, 2026, for a one-of-a-kind New York Rangers Alumni Fundraiser Game - an event set to bring together local athletes, Harvey Hockey alumni, and some of the biggest names in Rangers history.

The game aims to raise support for essential upgrades and repairs to Evarts Rink, the cherished 1968-built home of the Harvey Cavaliers and a longstanding hub for youth hockey leagues, figure skating clubs, and learn-to-skate programs.

This special event is made possible thanks to the leadership and NHL connections of Harvey’s Director of Hockey, Colton Orr, whose professional career included time with the Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Orr was one of the NHL’s most respected enforcers, playing with grit and heart - most notably with the Rangers from 2005 to 2009. Since retiring, he has shifted his focus to coaching and development and now leads The Harvey School’s hockey program, helping grow the game at the grassroots level and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

With Coach Orr at the helm, Harvey is thrilled to welcome an exceptional lineup of Rangers alumni, including 1994 Stanley Cup winners Adam Graves, Stéphane Matteau, and NHL Hall of Famer Brian Leetch. Adding to the excitement, iconic NHL referee Kerry Fraser - one of the most recognizable officials in league history - will serve as the game’s guest referee. Harvey Hockey alumni and current Bedford Bears coaches will take the ice against these Rangers greats in what promises to be an unforgettable and spirited matchup.

Funds raised will directly support vital repairs and improvements to Evarts Rink, including board realignment and repairs, installation of new benches, locker room upgrades, and aesthetic enhancements throughout the facility - ensuring the rink remains a vibrant home away from home for skaters and athletes for years to come.

Although spectator tickets released to the Harvey and Bedford Bears communities sold out within hours, fans still have ways to get involved. A public silent auction open through December 20 offers exclusive game-day experiences such as stepping in as Rangers Coach for a Day or Cavaliers Coach for a Day, and enjoying the “Best Seats in the House” from the penalty box. Additional auction items include Rangers-signed equipment and game tickets. Local businesses are also invited to support the event through sponsorship opportunities.

Join us in helping restore a cherished community landmark, and in celebrating the past, present, and future of Harvey Hockey.
