Dear Editor,
I read the Publisher's Memo, which drew an equivalence between Ashli Babbitt and Renee Nicole Good ("Why politics and certainty can distort the pursuit of justice," Jan. 15, Page 16).
I have gotten used to questionable opinions but this one prompted me to write a letter. Ashli Babbitt was killed by a police officer while actively rioting and trying to break into the U.S. Capitol.
Renee Nicole Good was executed by an ICE “officer” and was no threat to anyone. There is literal video of her calmly and happily interacting with the officer minutes prior.
Drawing an equivalence between the two is disgraceful and indecent. Shame on the newspaper for allowing such despicable opinions to be published.
