Cataract

Glaucoma
- Usually no symptoms. High pressure can cause headaches, glare and halos.
- Treated with laser, glaucoma eye drops, and eye surgery. Glaucoma implants can be placed at the time of cataract surgery.
Age-related Related Macular Degeneration
- May have blurry central vision and a distorted Amsler grid
- Dry form is usually managed with close observation, UV protection, no smoking, dietary changes, multivitamins and monitoring the Amsler Grid. New medications are now available.
- Wet forms are treated with the above in addition to intravitreal injections and laser by a retinal specialist.
Diabetic Eye Disease
- May have blurry vision that fluctuates with elevated blood sugars.
