The Lake Mahopac Rotary Club awarded scholarships to six local students in recognition of their outstanding community service.
Elizabeth Azzinaro received a $5,000 award for her long-term commitment to helping others. Azzinaro, a Girl Scout, volunteered at numerous town events and helped clean a local animal shelter.
The following students each received a $1,000 scholarship:
Isabella Scuoppo, who worked with children with disabilities through basketball and bowling programs and also served as a math tutor.
Cass Fabbie, who collected food donations for the Humane Society, helped clean a bike path, and volunteered at the library.
Patrick Mahoney, a recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA).
Dylan Esposito, who volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Kisco and participated in an Earth Day cleanup.
Sebastian Belinski, a Putnam County Sheriff’s Cadet who helped with the town’s Earth Day cleanup and annual egg hunt.
Belinski was not present for the group photo.
