BEDFORD, N.Y. - On Friday, June 13, students closed out the year in style at the Fox Lane Fashion Show.

The annual extravaganza was entirely run by students, showcasing their talents for promotion and garment design.

The event, which drew a packed house at FLHS, was planned by students Mara Taplitz and Beanie Fass, who interned with art teacher Lindsay Lappin-Burke as part of ASPIRE (A Senior Program for Internships, Research, and Enrichment).

Together, they organized and coordinated every facet of the show, including working with local businesses for ad sales in the program. They also created mood boards to show off the inspiration for the fashion creations and added a new dressing room backstage.

“It’s a great way to celebrate everything we’ve done throughout the year,” Beanie said. “It’s amazing to see everything come to life. We’re very fortunate to have a prestigious show, but to actually see it is something else. Everything is made by students.”

“This program is like a little family,” Mara said. “When I leave school on breaks, I want to come back here. It has made the most impact on me in high school.”
