Dear Editor,
Your entire argument regarding immigration and the blame you attribute to Democrats is totally disingenuous ("No Kings-and no double standards," Oct. 23, Page 22).
Conservative Republican Sen. James Langford worked for many months with Democratic colleagues on a $120 billion comprehensive immigration bill. It was brought

Dear Editor,
I’ve known Ed Lachterman for more than a decade — not through politics, but through a shared passion for community service. Ed has always been someone you could count on to show up, roll up his sleeves and help wherever there was a need.
As a proud member of the Yorktown Lions Club, Ed was always first in line to volunteer. Over the years, I’ve seen him support countless local causes and organizations, including the Alliance for Safe Kids, My

Dear Editor,
I have lived in Yorktown for over eight years, and nothing has brought me greater joy than raising my two girls in this wonderful town. Over the years, I’ve learned that Yorktown is a truly special community—one that comes together in times of celebration and in times of need. And no one embodies that spirit of community more than Sergio Esposito. He truly is the face of this town.

Dear Editor,
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Sergio Esposito for many years — long before his time in politics, and even then, it was clear that his leadership was rooted in something deeper than strategy or ambition. What has always stood out to me is his unwavering commitment to people: to truly seeing them, hearing them and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.

Dear Editor,
As many residents know, I’ve lived in Yorktown my entire life.
My parents bought their home here before I was born, and I was raised on these tree-lined streets. From volunteering with United for the Troops to the Lions Club, I’ve always felt a deep love for our town, its people, its energy and its unmistakable hometown spirit. Yorktown isn’t just where I live, it’s who I am.

Dear Editor,
As a Mahopac resident, retired teacher and avid reader of Mahopac News, I’m writing out of concern for the girls/young women on the various sports teams of Mahopac and doubtless other high schools.
Each time I read and see accompanying photos of the MHS girls’ teams, I’m severely dismayed and disappointed by the uniform that they seem to have adopted.

Dear Editor,
With regard to the Publisher's Memo saying that both sides having double standards ("No Kings—and no double standards," Oct. 23, Page 22), no question there are bad actors on both sides. But I think the Republicans are winning this one in large measure.

As this campaign draws to a close, I find myself reflecting not just on the issues we've discussed but on the process and the future. Our team has knocked on over 6,100 doors across Yorktown. We've had conversations with residents of every political affiliation about topics ranging from infrastructure and development to schools, taxes and the future we want for our community.

Dear Editor,
As a relative newcomer to Mahopac – a hamlet with a storied past – I have watched as year-in and year-out the same folks have been elected to the Carmel Town Board, while at the same time many important projects continually stall. We all know what happens when important decisions are delayed; we often wind up paying more than if they had been addressed in a timelier manner.
I believe a change of the guard is in order, and to ensure that better due-diligence, negotiation and decision-making become part of our Town Board, I’m voting for Jean Hopper for Town Board Supervisor.
Jean is a long-time Carmelite with professional managerial experience who has raised her family here and become deeply involved in her community. She is exceedingly familiar with Carmel’s issues and has been following the board’s work for years.

Dear Editor,
Democrat State Sen. Peter Harckham is proposing legislation that would authorize NY State to bypass local zoning codes in order to allow houses of worship to build high-density multi-family low income housing and housing for the homeless on their properties.
The “Faith-Based Affordable Housing Act” is just the State’s latest attempt to override local control over zoning. It is the latest iteration of the widely unpopular “Pro-Housing Community Program.”
Mount Kisco proper has 10 houses of worship with at least one, the Fountain Of Eternal Life Church, sitting on approximately eight acres. Envision a high-rise apartment buildin

Dear Editor,
As a Bedford resident for 28 years, I’ve seen our town evolve into a vibrant, forward-looking community—thanks in large part to leaders like Stephanie McCaine.
Under Stephanie’s leadership, Bedford has expanded opportunities for residents of all ages. From programs for seniors and events like Food Truck Fridays to new activities at the Bedford Hills Community House and the opening of small businesses, our Town Board is fostering connection and progress.
